Cody signed on to go on the 1st ever Val Vista Stake Trek...he walked for Grandma McCoy'sGreat Grandfather...Solomon Waite...who came to America from England when he was the same age as Cody. Solomon found the LDS church in England and left his family ..the courage that it took.
He never saw his father again...He made it to Salt Lake and built one of the first houses where the Capitol stands today. He was called down to tame St.Johns, Arizona, when outlaws were
roaming the area...
Cody and company walked 18 miles the first day. They were fed a dinner of broth and a biscuit that night. Cody's Ma and Pa were awesome, according to Cody, they taught him some Tongan dances and songs and Ma made sure he was well fed.
He built a handcart and was a great help to his family.
We are so proud of Cody. Solomon should be smiling down on his great great GREAT grandson!
