He Will Be Missed....

Bill was a handsome dude.....

He lived a great life.. he was a husband, Dad, Grandfather and friend to all....

As my sister in law pointed out that there was never a damsel in distress when he was around.

Bill lived life the way he wanted it to be~ He lived in Okinawa, Panama, Germany and Korea.

He and Rita travelled to many countries and made countless friends. He had 5 children and loved every one of them along with his wife Rita.

He Met Rita at a friend's wedding and by all accounts...it was love at first sight~

This is his family..he was so proud of his children and his wife.....

This February they would of celebrated their 61st year together.......

He was out doing what he loved to do, riding his bike and serving others. On Saturday, January 31st- he crashed, not the kind of crash he has had in the past but a crash that hurt his body so ,he could not recover this time. When we arrived. he was in a coma and yet we knew that he could hear us. His time was short but we held a vigil at his bedside so he would not be alone just in case he left without someone with him.. It's odd to say but I enjoyed my time with him and his daughter, Judy. We spoke of many things and we included him in the conversations since we just knew he was listening and probably mad at us for leaving our lives to hang out with him. I told him that was too bad, we were here for him and he would have to deal with it. We also comforted him and tried to ease him through this without pain. I hope that we succeeded, I'm sure he'll let us know when we get to the other side. How sweet a reunion this will be....

The family was around him and as we prayed and spoke to him, the spirit was so strong and as we released him from his earthly body, he went so quietly and peacefully. I'm confident we can add pain free to this. Thank you Bill for being a terrific man.

Billy Homer McCoy
Billy Homer McCoy, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Flagstaff Medical Center.
Mr. McCoy was born in Stith, Texas, to Willie Ruth Ellington and Thermon Emmett McCoy. He grew up in Texas and Arizona where he attended Isaac Junior High and North Senior High School. There, he participated in football and excelled at academics. He left school to join the U.S. Navy when he was 15 years old. After service a short stint, he was discharge from the Navy. He later served time in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He was injured while serving in Okinawa and was returned to civilian life after his honorable discharge. Soon after, he met Rita Colleen Odell in Phoenix, and they were married Feb. 22, 1948. They spent the last 61 years together.
Mr. McCoy worked for Seiberling Rubber Company in Phoenix for 20 years. He then changed occupations and became an ammunition inspector for the army as a civilian employee. In that capacity, he and Mrs. McCoy were able to live in Okinawa, Panama, Germany, Utah and Arizona. Mr. McCoy also served a year in Korea. They enjoyed their time in these countries, getting to know the people and learning about the cultures. They later retired to Flagstaff.
Mr. McCoy was an avid card player and especially enjoyed playing bridge with his friends at the Senior Center. He loved playing the lottery and along with his buddies shared a $250,000 prize. He was an extremely generous man and was always helping out one person or another in whatever they needed. He also loved solving crossword puzzles and spent every morning completing one before he went out to complete his daily tasks. He loved his country and his family.
He was very active until the end. He met his demise from complications of a bicycle accident on Jan. 31, 2009. He went down doing what he loved to do. He could often be seen riding his bike around town running his many errands. He also loved to go on early morning walks.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McCoy is survived by five children -- Kenneth Wayne (Andrea) McCoy of Phoenix, Judith Colleen (Charles) Owens of American Fork, Utah, William Todd (Cheryl) McCoy of Gilbert, Thurman Mark (Susan) McCoy of Sandy, Utah, and Tracy Odell (Margaret) McCoy of Farmington, Utah; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the LDS Chapel, 2401 Linda Vista Drive, in Flagstaff.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the LDS Perpetual Education fund for underprivileged students in third world countries.

Remodeling on a teeny tiny budget....

It ALWAYS begins with cleaning my room....
Todd and I were actually working together, I know...hard to fathom
really....so I had this idea a few years ago about getting 2 six foot mirrors
to replace the mirror that I "donated" to colin for another project so,

I have had 2 mirrors and 1 chandelier for a few years, waiting for the time when we could actually afford to redo the flooring and the horrific vanity in our 26 year old bathroom...we still didn't have the money but we had the goods for at least 1/2 of the project , so why not?

I had mismeasured, yes I said that I mis- calculated the size of the mirrors and that sconces would not fit in between!

This must be true because colin the electrician came over and actually measured.

Todd casually mentioned that we should hang 2 chandeliers in FRONT of the mirrors...HMMMMMMM......not bad.
I called my friend Cheryl and asked her if she still had the other chandelier that she ordered at the same time(4 years ago) and after she crawled through her attic, lo and behold, there it is in the middle of her garage in her new house! Cost? trading her out by designing and arranging her interiors in her new house! priceless!

So........ this little project cost us 23. bucks for paint! Todd, you are so creative, who knew? I did!

not fully cleaned nor accessorized but you get the gist of the plan

other ideas that we would love to implement in this bathroom so check in soon!

well, maybe not too soon, this only took us 4 years to decide!

Heaven in a wrapper

Now I know this probably doesn't look very appealing to very many of you, but I love white chocolate and I absolutely adore coconut. I mean, you could give me a plate full of mud and I would happily eat all of it if it had enough coconut in it. I've been eyeing this baby at the store for months now and I finally got to try it. Let me tell you, it was heaven in my mouth. I might have peed a little with excitement when I took the first bite. And then I ate the entire thing (minus one square which went to Ty) in about 23 minutes. It was delectable.

I must admit I'm a bit sad to have discovered this little gem just in time to start a diet. But I guess it won't last forever. (Read as: "As soon as I get pregnant again I'm running to the store for a little reunion.") Until then, farewell my friend. I'll never forget you.

This pretty much sums up my feelings on this little bit of Heaven....
It must of buried itself deep into my psyche because seriously until I was in Target today and ran into it, I didn't really give it much thought.
but O M Gosh!
It is scary good.

Thought for the Day.....

A female humpback whale had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines.

She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat.

She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a
Line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate ) and radioed
For help.

Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only
Way to save her was to dive in and untangle her -- a very dangerous proposition. One slap of
The tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.

When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles.
She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently,
Thanking them.

Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the

New Year ~ New Wheels

New Year's Eve......

Jolie...Marina....Blu ....Makenna and I all decided to go on an adventure!!

Phoenix Tempe and Mesa finally (1.6 billion) got the Light Rail up and running...

they are pretty fancy busses and if you are not on time restraints, can be kinda fun...

We chose to board and play in Tempe at the same time the Insight Bowl was playing and the entire city was getting ready for the Fiesta Bowl Block Party ....

this was not a smart move........Everytime a team would score a touchdown, there would be loud fireworks...the boom hits right in the middle of Mill...it felt like we were in a war zone.....

As you can see by our lovely pictures (porta potty's are such a great shade of blue)
